1 Abstract

The connecting method involves applying covering lacquer to the intended contact surfaces and adjacent areas of each component to be connected. In the case of a window frame, two vertical frame parts (2b) and two horizontal frame parts (3a, 3b) are finished and lacquered. The covering lacquer used is an acrylic one. When the lacquer is touch-dry, contact surfaces (5) at the ends of the frame parts are dipped in a solvent containing acetone and acrylic, so that the covering lacquer is dissolved. The frame parts are then placed together and the contact surfaces are pressed to each other. After drying for a few days, the frame is ready for use without further surface processing.
