1 Abstract

This disclosure describes novel antibac­terial agents designated LL-E19085β, LL-E19085γ, LL-E19085ζ and LL-E19085η, their production by aerobic fermentation of a new subspecies of Micro­monospora citrea NRRL 18351 and mutants thereof, and the isolation and purification thereof. n This invention provides methods for increas­ing the growth rate of warm-blooded animals, for improving the efficiency of feed utilization by said animals, for increasing lactation in lactating ruminant animals and for increasing the wool production of sheep. The invention also relates to novel animal feed compositions and parenteral compositions useful in obtaining the above-described results.
