Description
Enables GTPase activity. Involved in several processes, including DNA-templated transcription; negative regulation of metabolic process; and positive regulation of TORC1 signaling. Acts upstream of or within cellular response to oxidative stress. Located in fungal-type vacuole membrane; late endosome membrane; and nucleus. Part of Gtr1-Gtr2 GTPase complex and Ragulator complex. Orthologous to several human genes including RRAGB (Ras related GTP binding B).
GTPase involved in activation of the TORC1 signaling pathway, which promotes growth and represses autophagy in nutrient-rich conditions (PMID: 26510498, PMID: 28993463, PMID: 32801125). Also required for TORC1 inactivation during nitrogen starvation (PMID: 28993463). Required for intracellular sorting of GAP1 out of the endosome (PMID: 16732272). Functionally associated with the inorganic phosphate transporter PHO84, and may be involved in regulating its function or localization (PMID: 1620108).
