Description
Enables calcium channel inhibitor activity; cytoskeletal protein binding activity; and lipid binding activity. Involved in negative regulation of calcium ion transport and plasma membrane tubulation. Acts upstream of or within negative regulation of endocytosis. Located in cytoplasm. Is expressed in central nervous system and retina. Orthologous to human PACSIN3 (protein kinase C and casein kinase substrate in neurons 3).

3 Proteins

3.1 Protein Function

Plays a role in endocytosis and regulates internalization of plasma membrane proteins. Overexpression impairs internalization of SLC2A1/GLUT1 and TRPV4 and increases the levels of SLC2A1/GLUT1 and TRPV4 at the cell membrane. Inhibits the TRPV4 calcium channel activity.
