Description
Predicted to enable several functions, including adipokinetic hormone binding activity; adipokinetic hormone receptor activity; and neuropeptide binding activity. Involved in glucose homeostasis. Predicted to be located in nucleoplasm. Predicted to be active in neuron projection and plasma membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including brain; early conceptus; exocrine gland; genitourinary system; and hemolymphoid system gland. Orthologous to human CMKLR2 (chemerin chemokine-like receptor 2).

Receptor for chemoattractant adipokine chemerin/RARRES2 suggesting a role for this receptor in the regulation of inflammation and energy homesotasis (PMID: 24895415). Signals mainly via beta-arrestin pathway. Binding of RARRES2 activates weakly G proteins, calcium mobilization and MAPK1/MAPK3 (ERK1/2) phosphorylation too. Acts also as a receptor for TAFA1, mediates its effects on neuronal stem-cell proliferation and differentiation via the activation of ROCK/ERK and ROCK/STAT3 signaling pathway (PMID: 29799787).
