Description
Enables L-lactate dehydrogenase activity. Involved in pyruvate catabolic process. Acts upstream of or within ATP biosynthetic process; flagellated sperm motility; and lactate biosynthetic process from pyruvate. Located in cytoplasm and motile cilium. Is active in cytosol. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; brain; genitourinary system; respiratory system; and sensory organ. Orthologous to human LDHC (lactate dehydrogenase C).
